Nike Recycling and Donation
Overview
Nike Recycling and Donation (RAD) is a new pilot program designed to reclaim used product and transform it back into raw materials—part of Nike’s ongoing commitment to circularity and waste reduction.
POC to MVP
RAD (Recycling + Donation) was the evolution of previous POC tests in several global markets, and our team worked to design and pilot the service in EMEA stores.
The service is an important part of Nike’s Move To Zero initiative, and a part of the brand’s ongoing waste reduction commitments.
3 Pilot Variations
RAD built on global POC tests, and our team designed and launched an optimized, scalable version of the service for select EMEA stores. The launch was backed by a full marketing campaign with branding, content, and in-store storytelling to bring the experience to life.
Recycling Partner
Our team built the operational systems required to collect, process, and divert product—partnering with an international non-profit to ensure wearable items were donated to local communities, while unwearable product was recycled.
Service Blueprint
The Service & Experience Design team collaborated with global, cross-functional partners to build an in-depth Service Blueprint and Go-To-Market playbook, ensuring operational clarity and brand consistency across markets.
